Senior Manager, Community Relations & Consultation, Sarawak Energy
Ts. Mahmood Long is the Senior Manager, Community Relations & Consultation of the Social Impact Management & Corporate Social Responsibility Department. In this role, he is responsible for implementing integrated social and environmental concerns into business operations and interactions with stakeholders to create a positive impact on the social, environment and economy.
Prior to joining Sarawak Energy in 2015 as the Manager of Environment in the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Department, he held various leadership positions in both government and private sectors. With over 30 years of working experience in the HSSE field, he has made significant contributions to HSE Excellence; demonstrating exceptional leadership & and resourcefulness.
He has led his team to achieve 100% environmental regulatory compliance; spearheaded Sarawak Energy’s 10-Year Integrated Tree Planting, Protection and Habitat Restoration Campaign; developed Environmental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, as well as environmental training modules; and enabled Sarawak Energy to be recognised at the Premier Sarawak Environmental Awards (PSEA) and Prime Minister Hibiscus Award (PMHA).
Ts. Mahmood holds an Executive Master in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
