Dr. Tim Rackett (BA Hons 1st class Sociology Essex University; Ph.D. Birkbeck College, University of London). After working as a medical anthropologist and gaining his PhD on Western reason, racism, and madness, moved to Thailand. Tim has spent 26 years in Southeast Asia teaching and researching ethics, culture, politics, and the impact of Western models of development, modernization, and globalization. In Malaysia, he created an MA, and a center, in sustainable development at a private Malaysian university, and presented papers on conflict resolution in southern Thailand for the Malaysian government’s Global Movement of Moderates and UNESCO. He has published on digitalization’s impact in Cambodia, policies for developing Higher Education in the private sector, and managing diversity, difference, and risk in Thai society and culture.
Currently, Tim coaches Ph.D. students, holds research clinics, and is Dean of the Management School at the Vietnamese-owned, Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation, Zug, Switzerland, where he teaches MBA courses on strategic management, leadership, and research methods.
