Dr Tim Rackett (BA hons 1st class Sociology Essex University; PhD Birkbeck College, University of London). After working as a medical anthropologist and gaining his PhD on Western reason, racism and madness, moved to Thailand. Tim has spent 26 years in Southeast Asia teaching and researching ethics, culture, politics and the impact of Western models of development, modernization and globalization. In Malaysia he created an MA, and a centre, in sustainable development at a private Malaysian university, and presented papers on conflict resolution in southern Thailand for the Malaysian government’s Global Movement of Moderates and UNESCO. He has published on digitalization’s impact in Cambodia, policies for developing Higher Education in the private sector, managing diversity, difference and risk in Thai society and culture. Currently Tim coaches PhD students, holds research clinics, and is Dean of the Management School at the, Vietnamese owned, Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation, Zug, Switzerland, where he teaches MBA courses on strategic management, leadership and research methods.
