Delphine Robbe is the impetus behind the Gili Eco Trust, a local NGO actively involved in the protection of reefs and environment of the Gili Islands in West Nusa Tenggara. She is a French national who specializes in coral reef restoration including the Biorock technology. She shares her passion via workshops; working with locals, including the children and volunteers; networking with other environmental organisations and Government. Gili Eco Trust’s main project on land is improving waste management, an ongoing issue for Gili Islands, especially because of tourism. Gili Eco Trust has got some great ideas and solutions to put in place to make the island of Gili Trawangan an eco-example for sustainable tourism. Gili Eco Trust projects also include tackling beach erosion, beach clean ups, recycling and up cycling, glass workshop, cat clinics, humane treatment of horses, and safety for turtles, sharks, manta rays… and many more ideas and projects for which Gili Eco Trust needs help and fundings.
